What each target means
The Steam listing ties the hardware targets to in-game modes rather than a vague "minimum" label:

Patch-sensitive note: Day 1 update Ver.1.0.3 changed weapons, skills, enemies, difficulty scaling, EX-MOD behaviour and step/roll invulnerability. That is a gameplay balance patch, not a PC performance patch, but it means our older demo-era combat and build pages need retail rechecks before we call any ranking final.
The Denuvo activation limit, explained
The listing specifies a 5-system activation limit — the game can be activated on up to five different machines within the DRM's rolling window. For a single gaming PC this is irrelevant. It matters if you rotate between desktop, laptop, handheld PC and cloud rigs: hardware changes can count as new activations. Plan your install footprint accordingly.
Steam Deck and handhelds
Do not buy the PC version only for Steam Deck until retail benchmarks land. On paper, the official 1080p targets sit above the Deck's native hardware class, though lower resolution, performance mode and controller-native design could still make it playable. The next update for this page should be measured handheld results: preset, resolution, frame cap, battery estimate and any Proton fixes.
Should you buy on PC or console?
If you meet the recommended spec and want Steam Cloud, achievements or handheld-PC flexibility, PC is the flexible version. If your machine is closer to the 1080p/30 fallback tier, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S is the cleaner recommendation until more retail benchmarks are available. Either way, update to the Day 1 patch before judging combat feel or difficulty.
